About kaar4u

What we do

kaar4u is an online marketplace for buying and selling used cars in Pakistan. Owners list their cars directly and buyers contact them directly — we are not a dealer, we do not take possession of vehicles, and we do not sit between you and the person on the other side of the transaction.

Alongside the marketplace we publish price guides calculated from live listings, and written guides to the parts of car ownership that cost people money: ownership transfer, token tax, vehicle verification and pre-purchase inspection.

How we approach pricing information

Our price guides are computed from the asking prices of cars actually listed on the platform, recalculated hourly. They are not manufacturer list prices, not historical averages, and not estimates.

We publish the number of listings behind every figure so you can judge how much weight it deserves. A median drawn from forty cars means something; one drawn from three does not, and we would rather say so than present both with equal confidence.

How we source guide content

Fee and tax figures in our guides are taken from the relevant government department's own published schedules — principally the Punjab Excise & Taxation Department — and every source is linked on the page.

Each guide carries the date its figures were last verified. Government rates change with provincial budgets, and we would rather show you when we last checked than imply a figure is permanently current. Where we cannot source something from an official page, we say so rather than filling the gap.

What we do not do

We do not value your car for a fee, we do not guarantee any sale, and we do not act as an escrow service. Payment and the ownership transfer happen directly between buyer and seller, and the transfer itself requires both parties at the excise office for biometric verification — that step cannot be delegated to us or anyone else, by design.

We also do not verify every claim in every listing. Listings are written by their sellers. Verify the registration yourself, match the chassis and engine numbers, and get an independent inspection before you pay.

Listings are submitted by their sellers and we do not independently verify every claim in them. Always check the registration on the provincial excise portal, match the chassis and engine numbers against the book, and arrange your own inspection before paying.

Is it free to list a car?

Yes. Standard listings are free. Featured listing plans and our managed selling service are optional paid services.

How current are the prices and fees on the site?

Price guides recalculate hourly from live listings. Government fee and tax figures in our guides carry the date they were last verified against the department's published schedule, and every source is linked.
